Phonologicial Awareness & Spelling

The ability to hear and manipulate sound structures within words provides students with a sound basis for learning to read and spell. Fostering a strong phonological awareness begins very early in a child's life. Simple rhymes, songs and books all promote sound structures that children build on. Linking alphabet letter sounds to words, rhyming puzzles and word family games all assist to secure sound structures.
