Statistics, graphs and probability are crucial everyday life skills and important mathematical topics. Statistics within the primary school is primarily the study of procedures for the collection, recording, organisation and interpretation of data. These procedures consist of: tables, techniques for tallying, charts and diagrams like Venn and Carrol, and smapling techniques and relationships such as the Monte Carlo method, the small area method, functions or mappings and linear relationships. With the upper primary school can be included the study of imple statistical measures for describing the extent and central tendency of data. The measures consist of: mean, mode and median and range and mean deviation.
